Performs and accurately records screening tests to patients of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups
Participates in patient counseling and education activities related to primary health care, HIV/STD prevention and treatment, child/adult health maintenance, and family planning
Documents necessary information in patient’s electronic medical record
Prepare and maintain documentation in compliance with JCAHO standards and applicable city, state and federal laws
Administers medications and treatments as authorized by the provider
Performs phlebotomy and simple laboratory procedures including but not limited to rapid strep test, urinalysis, pregnancy and tuberculosis screening
Assist health team in follow-up of missed appointments and non-complaint patients by telephone and mail
Job Requirements:
Graduation from an approved school of practical nursing
Associates Degree in Nursing preferred
Current Practical Nurse License in NYS
2+ years previous experience in nursing is preferred
Bilingual (Spanish) Preferred
Current CPR Certification
Phlebotomy/blood draw experience
