Job Function:

• Schedule of 12-14 shifts per month, 160 shifts per year considered full time
• 8pm-8am night shifts only, build your own schedule with other nocturnists
• Handle emergency department admissions, resident physically admits the person and hospitalist would be called to bedside to debrief and help with treatment plan. Typically 8-10 admissions per shift
• Closed ICU - candidate must be comfortable with central lines and running rapid response/codes
• Work closely with medical students and internal medicine residency program (110-120 between interns and IM residency class)
• Faculty appointment through local medical school (SUNY Downstate)
• This is an employed position with a base salary, CME money, end of year incentive, competitive hourly rate for moonlighting and standard hospital benefits including malpractice coverage
